The Skinny

The Miro NR07G is a unique and innovative humidifier that assembles with magnets, and all of the parts are washable with soap and water, unlike every other humidifier in this group. This humidifier has a single dial that is detached from the humidifier to control humidity levels, and you fill the unit from the top. We like how easy this option is to fill and clean, making it one of the most hygienic options we've ever seen that is also easy to use in place. Cleaning this unit requires its own brush (don't use your dish brush) but no special equipment. It is also one of the more expensive options in the group, making it a potential no-go for smaller budgets. Overall, this is a good choice for those concerned with sanitation where budget is less of a concern. Our review of the best humidifiers shows how it stacks up versus competing products.

Our Analysis and Test Results

Miro is a family-owned business started by an inventor dad inspired by his daughter's need for humidity and her asthma to create a humidifier that could be completely cleaned. As a dad, his goal was a safe, simple, and sanitary humidifier for children.

Ease of Cleaning

This humidifier is the easiest to clean with quick disassembly. The unit holds together with magnets making it easy to take apart, and all of the parts can be washed in the sink with soap and water. It is the only option in this review that can boast this ability.

The manufacturer recommends fully cleaning the unit every two to three days, and it is easiest to clean using a brush. It does have more parts than the average product, but the ease of assembly and cleaning negates how frustrating this could be.

Effectiveness

The Miro isn't as effective as some of the competition; however if your space is small or you use this unit near where your child is sleeping, it could meet your needs.

The unit started with humidity levels similar to the competition, but it struggled to keep up with the competition.

At 180 minutes, the room registers 83% relative humidity which is plenty for most needs, but the competition is closer to 90% in the same time period.

Noise

This unit is fairly quiet, with a decibel reading of around 40. This is not the quietest in the group, but it is lower than the louder options. The company offers a sound muffler for purchase if you feel it is too loud that they claim decreases the overall sound output.

Given that some folks intentionally purchase white noise makers, we suspect the low noise level we experienced during testing will be acceptable for most babies to sleep peacefully through.

Ease of Use

This product is the only one in the review with a control knob that is not directly attached to the unit but connects off to the side. It is the only part you do not wash.

The single knob works well and is simple, but there is no opportunity to set humidity level goals or shut off timers.

The Miro is fillable by removing the top and pouring water into the "bowl" making it one of the easier options to fill and the only one you can fill in place.
The Miro has more parts than any other product we tested.
The Miro has more parts than any other product we tested.

This unit has a quick setup despite having more parts than the average product as it connects using magnets. This could be a big boon to anyone with arthritis or any other limitations in hand dexterity. It refills from the top, and the water is essentially held in an open bowl, making it easy to refill in place using an external pitcher.

Customer Service Woes?
While we had no need to reach out to customer service during testing, and our Miro worked as expected, we have been told and found reports from other users that Miro customer service is less than stellar. With only an email listed on their website and what some report to be a dubious phone number in their manual, we thought it might be worth noting that this could potentially prove to be an issue for some. We recommend buying from a retailer with a generous return policy, using the Miro right away and consistently within the return window, so if there is trouble, you'll be able to return it.
