The Skinny

The UPPAbaby Vista v2 combo is a high-quality full-size stroller that is compatible with multiple infant car seat brands, as well as the UPPAbaby Mesa. Our testing shows easy attachment with most seats, even several of those by different brands. Unfortunately, the Vista v2 is heavy and large open or folded. This size could make the Vista prohibitively heavy for moms to lift. While we love the giant storage bin with 30 lb capacity, and the versatile seating of the Vista can't be beaten, it is a lot of stroller if you only have a single car seat to carry. That said, it could be an excellent option for those with multiple children and need a ride for 2+ with infant car seat carrier.

Ease of Attaching Car Seat

We tested our Vista v2 with the UPPAbaby Mesa infant car seat, but it is compatible with a large variety of other brand seats with the purchase of an adapter. These adapters include seats from Chicco, Maxi-Cosi, Nuna, and Cybex.

The infant carrier or adapters (depending on the car seat) attach to the same points as the toddler seat.

You do not need adapters if you choose the Mesa as your compatible option as it connects in the same place using the same points as the toddler seat. This design means nothing to lose or keep track of. You remove the seat/canopy frame from the stroller before connecting the infant carrier. The seat is straightforward to attach, with the most challenging part being lining up the two sides simultaneously. We didn't experience any difficulty making the attachment during testing, but the carrier doesn't feel as secure as much of the competition.

Weight and Folded Size

Since you remove the toddler seat/canopy on the Vista v2 when using it with an infant car seat carrier, it is somewhat lighter and smaller than it typically is. However, in this group, it is still average and no lightweight contender. The Vista v2 is 21 lbs and measures 6,864 cubic inches when folded.

Maneuverability

While the Vista can't compete with the jogging strollers in this review for maneuverability, it does have no-flat rubber tires that give it an edge on the plastic wheel competition and the really lightweight frame products. The v2 has lockable front wheels and all-around suspension that helps keep in on track even when the terrain gets bumpy.

The Vista manages flat surfaces better than those off the beaten path. If you need to travel across a green belt or down a gravel path, you'll be able to do so without frustration, but you won't want to go very far as it does make pushing and turning more difficult.

The telescoping handlebar on the Vista v2 is a useful adjustment that puts taller pushers further from the axle and limits the flex often seen in the rotating adjustment style.

Ease of Use

The Vista is easier to use than much of the competition, providing less day to day frustration than some other full-size options.

Fold and Unfold

The Vista v2 has an easy fold with only a few steps. The frame unlock requires two hands, but nothing about the fold or unfold is convoluted or challenging. The Vista v2 stands when folded, automatically locks in place, and can roll when folded.

Brakes

The single-action brakes on the Vista v2 are easy to use with a press to set and release foot-friendly design. The pedal includes a color-coded indicator that shows when the brakes are set or free.

The giant storage basket on the Vista v2 is easy to access and has a 30 lb weight limit. Unfortunately, a crossbar does inhibit the shape and size of what will fit inside.

Storage

The Vista v2 has one of the largest capacities in the group, with a limit of 30 lbs. The basket has the best access from all sides, especially with the infant car seat in place. The basket includes internal pockets for better organization.

Sunshade

While the Vista v2 has an impressive sunshade, you won't be using it in conjunction with an infant car seat carrier.

Ease of Setup

UPPAbaby sends the Vista v2 virtually assembled. It took us less 5:14 minutes to put the stroller together. AIt comes with a useful quick-start guide, and all you need to do is snap on the wheels, attach the belly bar to the seat, and the seat to the frame if you plan to use it.

Quality

The Vista v2 offers impressive quality in both materials and construction. The sturdy frame is aluminum alloy, includes few connections, has no flex, and looks sleek. The foam-filled rubber tires are dense surrounding a plastic wheel. The overall fit and finish of the Vista v2 are as good as ever with a clean presentation that is neither cluttered nor filled with extras.
