ASTM stands for American Society for Testing and Materials, part of which works to set standards for baby and child product safety and quality on a range of baby gear like cribs and strollers to helmets and toys to playground equipment and amusement park rides. Today, there are over 12,000 ASTM standards in effect on a global scale.
